Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Month, New Rabbit Leader! Introducing Acorn!
about 7 years ago – Sun, Sep 03, 2017 at 08:07:57 PM

Happy September, one and all!

I managed to hit all the items on the To Do List I outlined in my last update, and am pleased to say that I added to it by also sending material out to our meeple designer! Hopefully when I check back in around September 15th, I'll have more information on how that's developing. :)

Remember to fill out your BackerKit surveys! We've hit 92% completion, which is actually pretty great so far. I'm going to be sending out reminders over the next couple weeks to those of you who just need to fill in your addresses, etc.

This update's more about showing off our final Tribal Leader than anything else, so let's get on that -

Introducing our newest Leader...

 .
Acorn is a busy bunny, running a kitchen and gardens that help feed the rabbits in her Town and beyond. The Rabbits on the Island all take pride in their excellent cooks and gardeners!

She might be the last Leader to be shown off, but she's definitely not the least! In fact, the Herba Tribal Symbol can be found on our box art...

 .
I just love it when different art and story elements come together :D

September is here, and I hope school and the changing weather has been treating you all fairly so far. My thoughts are with any of our friends and supporters who may be in the flood-affected parts of the Gulf as they deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. I hope relief efforts are proceeding smoothly, and that the damage is as minimal as it can be.

I'll be back in a couple weeks to touch base again on any progress that's been made!

What's been done, and what's left to do! Also, Introducing Saffron!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 15, 2017 at 01:07:30 AM

It's already the middle of August! It's amazing how time can fly when you're juggling so many different tasks.

Things are moving along here at a steady clip. In the last couple of weeks, I have...

  • mailed the prototype copies to the "Carrot Bonus!" backers;
  • developed and delivered the newest copy of the rule book to our lovely translators (the final text will be available in English, Spanish, Dutch, French, and German);
  • worked out the semi-final quote with the printers;
  • and finished roughly half of the art direction on our plethora of game components

...among plenty of other small details that I'm not remembering or aren't worth the space to list here. It's been a long month so far, and luckily it's not even over yet!

In the next couple of weeks, I'm aiming to...

  • deliver materials our rule book graphic designer
  • finalize the rest of the art direction on the remaining game components
  • secure details with the printer
  • start a conversation with the Creative Content backers

...among many other little things that bring all of this together!

Let's talk about some art ~

Say hello to our newest Tribal Leader!

 .
I know there are those of you who always reach for the yellow pawn - you might be joined now by others who love books & writing and find a favorite in Saffron, the Memor Tribal Leader!

Histories and storytelling are important facets of the Rabbit's culture, and the Memor Tribe does their part by keeping a running record of events big and small.

Acorn, the Herba Chef, will be our last (but definitely not least!) Rabbit Leader to be drawn. I'm looking forward to showing her off!

I hope you all are having a great August so far, and I'll pop back in to say hi right around September 1st!

Brief Progress Report, Surveys, and a Live Drawing Event!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 01, 2017 at 12:14:08 AM

It has been an intense two weeks, waiting for Kickstarter to finish what they needed to do so we could really get the ball rolling on the next major steps!

AM Scharf, our fabulous artist, and I have already met over a half-dozen times working out the details for the art for the several dozen components that need to be illustrated. Action Cards, Movement Cards, final Map Tile designs - the backs to all of these things - the Carrot Tokens, the Rule Book, the Product Box...whew! There's a lot to process, but we're keeping our momentum up and are getting a lot of pre-work done. I will have a more comprehensive art update later this month!

.
BackerKit surveys are coming soon! Here are some details about what to expect:

  • You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey.
  • If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact me at your earliest convenience (either message me over Kickstarter, or email contact[AT]playIHG.com) and I'll change things around in the back-end.
  • The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey.
  • It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.
  •  If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.
  • If you prefer, you can contact me directly and give me your information, but answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. (You can either message me here over Kickstarter, or email me at contact[AT]playIHG.com)

BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments!

And Finally,

.AM Scharf has set up a dedicated Pictaro.TV channel to use for Rabbit Island illustrations! Saffron will be getting her final inked lines and a color boost this Thursday, August 3rd, at 8 p.m. EST!

Though I'll advertise on here (and/or on Facebook) every once and a while, she'll be working on that channel on and off during the whole art process - it's fun to draw with company sometimes! If you click the green "Follow" button, you'll automatically get an email from Pictaro every time she goes live on this stream.

And that's all for now! Unless something comes up in the meantime, the next time I'll post an update is around August 15th. Hope everyone's summer is progressing well!

What Comes Next
over 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 19, 2017 at 01:01:55 AM

Greetings from the other side!

I'm so thankful and happy that the campaign has ended on such a high note! Thank you all for stepping up and helping us fund our dream. <3

Now what?

  • Kickstarter is processing payments - this can take up to two weeks! Pay attention to your email (even your spam filter, for some of you), since they'll send you a notice if your payment information bounces for any reason.
  • BackerKit surveys will be sent out soon, to gather email address, shipping information, and give you the opportunity to upgrade or otherwise manage your pledge.
  • BackerKit also gives us the opportunity to sell preorders, so that'll be available for any of your friends or family who sound disappointed that they weren't able to get in on the deal before the campaign ended! I'll have that link available on the "button" in the header of this page ASAP.
  • Those of you with Creative Content rewards (Saffron's Story, Acorn's Recipe, etc.) - I'll be using the email address provided in your survey to touch base in a few weeks so we can start the process of getting the details together for your reward! I'm really looking forward to working with all of you :D
  • I will be doing bi-monthly updates on our progress - Nothing's worse than a creator who doesn't touch base while you're waiting for your game! I'm pledging now to do an update twice a month, around the 1st and 15th, to give you updates as to our progress.
  • Live Drawing Events will continue - AM Scharf will still be doing live drawing events of game component art at least once a month. She's created a dedicated stream for these events. If you have a Pictaro account, press the green "Follow" button under the stream window, and you'll get an automatic email every time she goes live! An account also lets you chime in with comments during the stream. I will also include those dates/times in the updates prior to the event so you have a heads up.

And that's pretty much it! Feel free to ask questions in the Comment section should you feel the need, or send me a private message.

Here's to a productive rest-of-the-year!

Final Day.
over 7 years ago – Mon, Jul 17, 2017 at 01:23:25 AM

.
Here at midnight while I type this, we have only about 17 hours left to go.These last couple of days have been incredible, and this final stretch appears to be shaping up to be just as strong a finish as we could hope for.

You all have done such a wonderful job sharing the campaign, helping me put the word out (and keeping it loud and ringing!). I especially want to thank Steven Crane for keeping up with BGG during this time, especially since the amount of updating required for every other platform has been so time-consuming. If you have a BGG account, make sure to stop by the thread and thumb it up!

But to all of you who have chimed in to say something supportive and encouraging - I'm just going to keep saying "Thank you," because without all of you, there wouldn't be as much of a face to the hundreds of backers who have jumped on board so far.

As the Director of our tiny team here at Infinite Heart Games, I just want to extend the biggest <3 of gratitude to everyone. I'm honored to be making a game that you and your friends and family will share for hopefully years and years to come.

Thank you for helping us fund our dream, and here's to the final day.
